A full-arch restoration is a radical treatment that can replace an entire arch of permanent teeth. Our oral surgeons can perform a full-arch restoration procedure for a patient who needs many or most of their teeth replaced. Drs. Colarusso and Baran work hand in hand with local restorative dentists to create a brand-new set of teeth that are securely attached to a base of dental implants. This unique combination provides patients with a fully functioning set of new teeth and a beautiful new smile.
At Central Mass Oral Surgery, our oral surgeons can complete a full-arch restoration procedure in one to two surgical visits, allowing patients to smile again immediately. When properly cared for, the new arch of teeth can last a lifetime. We conveniently perform full-arch restoration procedures at both of our practice locations in Leominster, MA, and Gardner, MA. Our office staff can assist you in scheduling an oral exam and consultation to begin restoring your smile today.
Why choose a full-arch restoration procedure?
Full-arch restoration uses dental implants as a base for a fixed denture, which means patients get all the stability, comfort, and full function of implants in a more time-efficient procedure. Full-arch restoration can often provide patients with a brand new smile in a single surgical procedure. The oral surgeon typically places the implants and attaches a set of temporary replacement teeth at the same time, meaning you will leave our office immediately able to show off your new smile.
We recommend full-arch restoration for patients who are looking for a more stable alternative to removable dentures. While removable dentures can restore a full mouth of teeth, many patients report that their dentures are uncomfortable and require the continuous use of adhesive to keep them from slipping in the mouth. This makes it difficult to speak, eat, and smile with confidence.
Full-Arch Restoration Procedure
Drs. Colarusso and Baran have undergone extensive training to restore smiles using dental implants. Before the treatment begins, your surgeon will answer all your questions and help you select the type of anesthesia best suited for your surgery. Most patients elect to receive IV anesthesia so they can sleep comfortably until the procedure is over. As oral surgeons, every doctor in our practice retains the highest level of licensure and training to provide in-office sedation and monitor his patients throughout surgery. Once asleep, we will strategically place four or more dental implants to create the secure foundation needed to support your new arch of teeth.
After placing the implants, we will immediately attach the abutments and affix your temporary teeth. Over the next few months, your implants will integrate with your jaw and create a secure and permanent base for your final restoration. Additionally, this integration will help prevent jaw bone loss. At the same time, your restorative dentist will be creating your permanent, custom set of teeth. When your final denture is ready for placement, and your surgical sites have fully healed, your restorative dentist will secure your new set of teeth to your implants. Your final set of teeth will look just like natural teeth, and you will be able to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.
